MLP 2022/2023 16-TEAM SCHEDULE

Each City PC plays Divisional opponents twice, other Conference opponents once, and two non-Conference matches, (one opponent per Division from other Conference) for the Semi-Finals.

The four PCs with the most points from the regular 12-week season schedule standings qualify for the MLP Championship Play-Offs in the World Series of Polo, which consists of two semi-final single knockout matches (Top Seed hosts Fourth; Second Seed hosts Third), with the semi-final Winners advancing to the Championship Final Match played at a predetermined site to vie for the MLP World Series of Polo Cup.

How will the MLP SuperDraft work?

The MLP SuperDraft spans over three separate days with the first round beginning in 2022 for the APC division's 8 teams and an additional draft event for the remaining 8 NPC division teams. The 6 Rounds for each date will fill: 4 Primary Player Positions and 2 Secondary Rounds for Team Alternates. Teams must fill their required drafts of 1 Female Pro Athlete and 1 Collegiate Draft Player (male or female). This landmark sports initiative requires both 1 Female Pro Polo Athlete Draft Pick per U.S. City sports team and 1 Collegiate Draft Pick as an alternate. 

In the first round, MLP teams have 10 minutes to select each Draft Pick, but only 7 minutes in the second round. Teams receive 5 minutes for decision making in the next 3 rounds and only 4 in the final round. The MLP teams will utilize a private channel for the submission of Draft Picks and in order to allow team heads and coaches to communicate and strategize.

The MLP Digital Team’s primary mission is to embrace new streaming and broadcast technologies to create an unprecedented digital presence for live streamed broadcast including special NFTs that will be available from the event. As polo becomes more globalized, its fan engagement and accessibility are a high priority.  MLP is promoting esports at all its venues for additional athlete and fan engagement.
